Projects
Climate Change AI Research Project
| PhD Research Fellow | July 2023 – July 2024 |
Implemented neural network models for detecting illegal curbing activities using sound data. This project was a collaboration between Strathmore University and the University of Neuchâtel, focusing on the application of artificial intelligence for environmental monitoring and climate-related challenges.
DSCA Afrique – CNRS Support System for Cooperation with Sub-Saharan Africa
June 2022 – July 2024
Explored the use of large language models (LLMs) and rule-based methods for information extraction from scientific text to support ontology engineering and knowledge graph construction. The project focused on knowledge representation for semiconductor lasers, with the goal of optimizing the design process based on target properties. Conducted in collaboration with researchers from LIRMM, IES, and Strathmore University.
